Storybooks for Healing (SFH) is an eight week group program to assist people saddened or immobilized by grief to a return of comfortable and active living. Using Grief Reflection, a specific writing and remembrance Workbook, participants gently face the life and death of their loved one in order to identify and express their loss. The process results in creation of an important life-preserving story about their loved one that is easily published, shared, remembered and cherished.
Since 2008, Storybooks for Healing has worked with bereavement specialists in hospices, funeral homes, religious organizations and support groups to bring you a unique, complete and effective group writing program.

The Reward for Remembering
Writing through grief is not easy, but the rewards are tremendous and lasting. Storybooks for Healing is an intensive writing program and the participants who are willing to commit their time and focus during these few weeks of writing will be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment, a new understanding of how their loved one touched not only their own but many others’ lives, and a book celebrating life in memoriam which arises from their heart and soul of grief. Having this personalized and tangible storybook is a gift to be read and re-read any time comfort is needed. Then, by participating in the special SFH online community, the grief story becomes a passage to teaching and supporting others as the SFH participant can help countless others who find themselves in similar circumstances.
Discover, Publish, Share
Storybooks for Healing Grief Reflection is a discovery process. Participants unfold their stories about life, loss and meaning. Publishing these stories provides a container of remembrance for safe keeping. Then sharing through group work, storybooks, and the online community affirms lessons learned and creates an openness for dialogue about loss. The result is a new found purpose, joy, and hope without a sense of closing the door on their loved one.
